Classica, the German pay-TV channel for the lovers of classical music, opera and ballet, has rolled out its service on OTT platform Amazon Channels.
The offer comprises the linear TV channel as a live-stream and on-demand content.
Classica can be tested free of charge for 14 days after which a monthly subscription fee of €8.99 applies. Amazon Channels is available to customers of Amazon Prime which costs €69 per year.
Canadian media group Stingray took over Classica in January 2017 from Jan Mojto’s Munich-based production company Unitel. The ownership change is already visible on Amazon Channels where the channel is partially branded as Stingray Classica and Stingray Classica Channel.
Stingray plans a further expansion on the German market and is also considering acquisitions, as Tom Adams, managing director of Stingray in Germany, told Broadband TV News at ANGA COM 2017 in Cologne.
