Russia’s leading OTT players had revenues in the first nine months of this year that already exceeded those for the whole of 2016.
Kommersant reports that Ivi’s income in Q1-3 amounted to R1.7 billion (€24.4 million), compared to R1.6 billion for the whole of last year.
For the first three quarters, its income was 70% up on the same period in 2016. Paid susbcriptions accounted for 63% of revenues (R1.1 billion), with advertising providing the remaining 37% (R616.8 million).
Ivi had around 500,000 paying users a month, with the figure growing at double digit rates.
Meanwhile, at Megogo revenues for the first nine months of this year also exceeded those for the whole of 2016, while Tvzavr expects to see its revenues increase from R275 million in 2016 to R500 million this year.
Quoting J’son & Partners, Kommersant says that OTT revenues in Russia as a whole are likely grow by 23% this year to R9.6 billion.
