Seventeen per cent of Virgin Media’s installed base now has the Virgin TV V6 box installed.
Launched in December 2016, the operator says V6 customers have a “meaningfully higher NPS (Net Promotor Score)”, than those with legacy boxes. They are more likely to watch on demand content with the Netflix app and exclusive box sets.
Virgin added 12,500 new TV customers out of an additional 92,000 Revenue Generating Units (RGU), driven by new build and a return to growth in Ireland across fixed services, supported by product and service investments.
Broadband topped the additions with 57,000 net third quarter additions.
64% of broadband subscriber base now takes speeds in excess of 100 Mbps, up from 51% a year ago.
The customer response to the November 1st price rise is “in-line with expectations”, though it could easily be said Virgin is yet to feel its full effects. So far there has been a lower effect on NPS and fewer disconnects than the last consumer increased in November 2016.
12-month rolling customer churn was higher than Q3 2016 at 15.5%.
