Telia gains TV customers

October 19, 2017 10.52 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

Telia’s TV business enjoyed steady growth in all but one of the markets the company is present in in the year to September 30.

In Sweden, the total number of TV customers stood at 779,000 at the end of Q3, or 3.6% more than a year earlier, while in Denmark the total of 32,000 was 14.3% higher.

In the Baltic Republics, it had 237,000 TV subscribers in Lithuania as of the end of Q3, or 4.9% more than a year earlier, while in Estonia the total rose by 4% over the same period to 183,000.

The only reduction was seen in Finland, where the total fell by 1% to 484,000 in the year to September 30.

Summarising its results for the first nine months of this year, Telia says that net sales in local currencies, excluding acquisitions and disposals, increased by 0.6%.

However, in reported currencies they fell by 6.9% to SEK58,681 million (€6,113 million).

Total net income rose to SEK9,377 million from –SEK829 million in the corresponding period in 2016.
