Humax releases new Freeview Play recorder

September 27, 2017 11.39 Europe/London By Julian Clover

Humax has launched a new digital video recorder for use with the Freeview Play service.

The FVP-5000T comes with built in Wi-Fi, three DTT tuners and a new ‘intuitive smart search’. It’s the first Freeview Play recorder to incorporate three digital tuners. This enables viewers to record four channels whilst watching a fifth ‘live’.

There are three hard drive options (500GB, 1TB and 2TB) are available, enabling up to 250, 500 or 1,000 hours of recordings to be made.

In addition to catch-up services BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, All4, Demand 5 and UKTV Play there is also access to YouTube and optional pay-TV services.

Graham North, vice president sales at Humax, said, “We’ve taken another leap forward in home entertainment with the FVP-5000T, delivering an outstanding array of live TV, on demand programming, catch up and streaming services packaged in an easy-to-use device that’s intuitive, fast and slick to operate.”

Humax also runs its own curated ‘Top Picks’ recommendations services. There’s also a dedicated Humax app that allows viewers to set their own recordings, while it can also be paired with the Humax Eye HD Cloud Camera.
