Swedish private equity from EQT is looking to acquire CAIW Holding, following the earlier acquisition of Delta Kabel.
According to a report by Telecompaper, various sources have confirmed the talks, but it is not clear at what stage the current talks are.
CAIW Holding is owned by network investor CIF (Communication Infrastructure Fund). Under the Caiway brand, CAIW Holding is a retail service provider on CIF’s networks.
The network passes 320,000 homes, and had 196,000 customers as of June 30, 2017. EQT recently acquired cabler Deltakabel in the province of Zeeland, and serves 139,000 customers.
An earlier attempt by CIF to sell CAIW to KPN was blocked by monopoly authority NMa. In April 2012, KPN withdrew its bid.
EQT is an investment vehicle of Investor AB, owned by the Swedish Wallenberg family.
