Senior management at TVR face the prospect of dismissal due to the Romanian public broadcaster’s disappointing financial performance in 2016.
According to Mediafax, a report into TVR’s activities was voted on by the joint commissions of culture in the Senate and Chamber of Deputies, with 17 in favour, two against and two abstentions.
However, they had a negative view of TVR’s debts in 2016 having reached €150 million and this could result in the dismissal of TVR’s board.
Irina Radu, the TVR’s interim head, has meanwhile argued that its performance last year was much better than in 2015, when it was effectively a “broken” broadcaster.
