The Polish public broadcaster TVP has moved a step closer to launching an English language news channel.
This follows the appointment of Marzena Paczuska as an advisor on news and information to Jacek Kurski, TVP’s president.
The first task she will have will be the development of such a channel, which is likely to be styled on such services as BBC World, France 24 and Al Jazeera and make its debut in November 2018.
Paczuska’s appointment has come as a surprise, with some believing she had been relieved of her duties as the editor of TVP’s news programme Wiadomosci.
