In an analysis of the current situation, El Pais says that Telefónica is the only provider so far to have included TV in its recently launched low-cost package Movistar Fusion # 0. It includes the channel # 0, Movistar eSports, DTT channels and 4,500 VOD titles, along with internet access of up to 300Mbps and phone calls, with prices ranging from €45 to €57 a month.
Luis Miguel Gilpérez, Telefónica España’s president, said its aim was to democratise and universalise pay-TV and turn Movistar+’s # 0 into the best showcase to reach customers who wish to consume series at a different pace.
Meanwhile, Orange has launched a low-cost converged package named Amena that offers calls and broadband.
Generally, the aim among providers, the cheapest of which is a company named Lowi, is to offer fibre and mobile services for less than €50 a month.
