Another episode of hit HBO series Game of Thrones has been released ahead of schedule, but this time it appears the broadcaster is to blame, rather than the hackers.
It’s emerged HBO Spain and HBO Nordic broadcast episode six of the latest season, rather than the scheduled episode five. The broadcaster also posted the episode on catch up TV services for a short period, before the error was realised and the content removed. But this allowed enough time for screenshots and spoilers to appear on the internet.
A third-party supplier appears to be at fault with no connection to the recent hack of the HBO computer system or the internal piracy at an Indian TV company.
Four people have been charged with breach of trust and computer-related offences followed. The three employees and one former employee of Prime Focus had the necessary clearance to gain access to Episode 4 of the fantasy drama ahead of transmission.
