Ibrahim Eren has been elected DG of the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT).
According to a statement published by the EBU, Eren joined TRT as deputy director in 2013. He worked on a wide range of projects before going on to launch Turkey’s first international news channel TRT World in 2014.
He started his professional career working for leading media firms in arts and culture and, in 2008, went to work as a representative for Turkuvaz Media Group’s ATV in the UK. He became DG of ATV Europe and deputy director of ATV in 2010, where he oversaw the restructuring of the channel and streamlined in-house production.
Eren is also the chairman of the Executive Board of TIAK A.S (Television Audience Research Committee Joint Stock Company), a director of International Emmy and a member of the board of directors at Turk Telekom.
