EW Goms launches IPTV platform with Zattoo

May 22, 2017 11.23 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

Swiss fibre-optic network operator EW Goms has rolled out a multiscreen IPTV platform based on the white label IPTV solution of internet TV provider Zattoo.

With waly.tv, the company can offer its customers internet, telephony and television from one source.

The TV package contains more than 200 channels, 60 of them in HD quality. Through the integrated catch-up service, waly.tv customers can watch all TV programmes up to seven days after they have been broadcast. A network-PVR enables individual recording of up to 500 hours of TV programmes.

The waly.box comes from German set-top-box provider ABOX42, using the model M30 for the first time. Besides the TV set, waly.tv can also be used throughout Switzerland on smartphones and tablets (Android/iOS), independent of the user’s mobile network.

“With attractive product packages made up of high-speed internet access, telephone service and TV, we will unlock new potential sales and be able to make use of our powerful fibre-optic network even better in future,” said Damian Zumstein, Managing Director of EW Goms. “We approached this project together with Zattoo because their platform makes it possible to launch the TV service under our own brand quickly and reliably and to continue developing it without having to invest in complex and expensive IPTV technologies ourselves.”

Gernot Jaeger, Chief Officer of B2B TV Solutions at Zattoo, added: “We are very pleased that waly.tv is entering the market on time and that, generally, our Swiss B2B customers are constantly expanding their product offering with the Zattoo white label solution. Together with us, they can provide a realistic, long-term alternative to the TV offerings from the major national and international TV operators.”

The waly.tv product is demonstrated live at ANGA COM 2017 in Cologne at the Zattoo stand in hall 8, booth R9.
