Slovakia may shortly see the launch of a new DTH platform named Pantelio.
According to Satkurier and Satelitnatv, it is currently undergoing tests on the Belarusian satellite Belintersat 1, located at 51.5 degrees East, trialling a number of channels in SD and HD and encrypted in Panaccess on three transponders.
A promotional video in the Slovak and Czech languages on the Pantelio Info channel says the platform will eventually offer 50 HD and 50 SD channels, HbbTV, local TV, a seven-day TV archive and VOD.
The reports say that the company Panaccess, which is based in Germany and provides high-end one-way and two-way CAS and DRM solutions, is behind the project.
Slovakia is already served by a number of DTH services including M7 Group’s Skylink, UPC DTH’s freeSAT and Slovak Telekom’s Magio Sat and Digi TV.
