Alexei Zemsky, the general director of the Russian national TV station NTV, is now also the owner of Mobile TV.
According to Kommersant, Mobile TV provides television production services to major Russian broadcasters, including VGTRK and Gazprom Media.
In addition, it is involved in the production of three NTV thematic channels – NTV Pravo, NTV Style and NTV Serial – launched in October last year.
Although Mobile TV was re-registered in 2016, it has been in existence for 15 years.
Zemsky claims NTV accounts for only 5% of Mobile TV’s turover, if not less.
Its revenues in 2016 amounted to R173.5 million (€2.8 million) and it posted a net profit of R28.2 million.
Zemsky has led NTV since October 2015, prior to which he was deputy general director of VGTRK.
He is also the owner of Talan, and TV film and series production company that has been inactive for the last 18 months.
