UPC Romania and Ownzones Media Network (OMN) have launched a new premium application service.
Known as Ownzones Passport Romania, it is available exclusively to subscribers equipped with Horizon advanced set-top box.
Commenting on the development, Dan Goman, founder and CEO of OMN, said: “Ownzones Passport Romania represents an exciting premium app that offers exclusive content developed starting from the local needs of the market.
“We are excited to partner with UPC Romania on the new platform and see great opportunities for rolling out similar offerings in additional markets.”
Bogdan Bucurei, UPC Romania’s marketing director, added: “The Horizon TV Platform has an interactive applications portal on which the users can have access to diverse international and local content, relevant for every audience. It’s a unique service on the Romanian market through which any TV can turn into a smart TV. Launching Ownzones Passport application on our video platform supports the UPC strategy of offering the best entertainment experience to clients, coming with an original premium content.”
OMN is leading all programming for the new platform and through its partnership with the video driven news and entertainment portal Circa will set up a dedicated news bureau with a Bucharest-based correspondent.
All UPC clients that have the Horizon service can access the Ownzones app.
