Three quarters of pay-TV subscribers in Hungary now opt for digital services.
According to data produced by the regulator NMHH, based on information supplied by the country’s leading operators, the figure stood at 74.5% as of the end of January.
Of the 3,278,454 pay-TV subscribers covered by the reported figures, 2,312,082 were cable and IPTV, with the majority of these (1,474,505) choosing digital services.
Meanwhile, the number of DTH and pay-DTT subscriptions stood at 865,431 and 100,941 respectively.
UPC (27.1%), Telekom (25.8%) and Digi (25.4%) were the leading providers of pay-TV services irrespective of technology, with fourth placed Invitel claiming a 4.8% share of the market.
