Xumo adds Copa90 channel

March 6, 2017 07.35 Europe/London By Robert Briel

Football fan culture Copa90 is now available to stream for free on on-demand OTT service Xumo.

The Copa90 channel is available across Xumo platforms, including smart TVs from major manufactures such as LG, Vizio, Panasonic, Funai Electronics Co. brands Magnavox, Sanyo and Philips, iOS and Android mobile devices and Roku.

Viewers will have access to Copa90’s full, premium lineup of coverage as the new season of Major League Soccer (MLS) football, which kicked off on March 3, 2017.

Copa90 will be featuring unique content to get every soccer fan ready for the MLS season. XUMO will be spotlighting Copa90’s complete 2017 Major League Soccer season preview with everything from the most outrageous scenes to player profiles, fan culture stories and additional exclusive behind the scenes video that can only be found on Copa90. Upcoming features and profiles include:

Nick Bourne, chief commercial officer at Copa90 said, “Soccer has never been bigger in the US and the culture that has developed around the North American game is as vibrant and exciting as any in the world. The Xumo platform and viewing experience will allow our unique perspective-driven stories from around the globe to reach millions of soccer fans for whom the 90 minutes on the pitch just isn’t enough.”

Copa90 is a global, fan-first, multi-platform football media network specialising in creating content dedicated to the stories outside of the 90 minutes on the pitch. To date, Copa90 has scored over 1.5 billion video views and 12 million subscribers without owning any rights in football. Users spend an average of 47 minutes per week with Copa90 content.

“Partnering with Copa90 is exciting for us as we bring true football fan culture from MLS and international football directly to our audiences,” said Stefan Van Engen, SVP of content programming and acquisitions at Xumo.

“As we continue to expand and refine our premium channel lineup, we’re looking forward to making unique and exceptional programming, such as the Copa90 channel, available on XUMO across our expansive smart TV, set-top boxes and mobile distribution network.”

Xumo’s catalogue of free premium sports content now includes everything from Copa90 to Sports Illustrated, Golf, Golf Digest, National Lacrosse League, FNTSY Sports Network, and several more.
