Sunday’s football match between Olympique Marseilles and Paris Saint Germain delivered Canal+ with a record number of connections to its myCANAL app.
At its peak PSG’s five-nil drubbing of the home team reached close to 600,000 simultaneous connections.
This represents an increase of almost 20% compared to the previous record set by the Champions League semi final between Bayern Munich an Atletico Madrid in May.
Canal says the figures reached represent a growing interest from its subscribers – already myCANAL has more than 2 million users.
This online audience is in addition to the Canal+ broadcast where the game averaged 1.73 million subscribers with a peak at 2.1 million subscribers at the start of the game.
