ProSiebenSat.1 teams up with Scripps Networks

ProSiebenSat.1 will bring the channel brands and programmes of US broadcaster Scripps Networks Interactive to Germany.

The media companies signed a multi-year strategic partnership covering more than 1,200 hours of lifestyle and factual entertainment content the ProSiebenSat.1 channels will show as German TV debuts within branded programme blocks of Scripps’ channels HGTV, DIY Network, Food Network and Travel Channel.

The windows will launch in spring 2017 on free-to-air channels sixx, ProSieben Maxx and kabel eins Doku. The agreement covers series such as Listed Sisters fom HGTV, Giada in Italy and Guy’s Big Bite from Food Network and Booze Traveler from Travel Channel.

“Our exclusive partnership with one of the leading developers of lifestyle content is unique in the German TV market,” said Katja Hofem, member of the management board of ProSiebenSat.1 TV Deutschland and responsible for new channel development. “Scripps Networks’ programming, centring on food, home and gardening, DIY and travel, is the perfect fit for our audiences and will offer attractive new marketing environments for our advertising clients and our own commerce business.”

Jim Samples, president of Scripps Networks Interactive’s international business, added: “The collaboration with ProSiebenSat.1 TV Deutschland significantly expands our growing international footprint in one of Europe’s most dynamic territories.”
