The number of installed FTTH accesses in Spain grew by 50% to 22.6 million in 2015, according to the latest data produced by the regulator CNMC.
At the same time, the number of active FTTH accesses exceeded 3 million, compared to 1.57 million a year earlier.
Meanwhile, cable operators added 109,000 new accesses to their DOCSIS 3.0 networks in 2015, bring the total to 10.12 million at the end of the year.
CNMC notes that Movistar remained the operator with the largest deployment of installed FTTH accesses, while Orange and Vodafone accounted for 36.4% of the total, compared to 31.1% a year earlier.
However, alternative operators accounted for over 70% of new contracted accesses in 2015.
In the DOCSIS 3.0 sector, Vodafone (including Ono) accounted for 74% of HFC accesses.
