Stefan Langefeld will join German media company Pantaleon Entertainment on May 1, 2017 as chief operating officer (COO).
Alongside CEO Dan Maag, Langefeld will handle the ongoing global rollout of video-on-demand (VOD) platform Pantaflix while Maag will focus on the areas of strategy, international partnerships and production.
Langefeld has more than 15 years of experience in the media and IT industry as a founder and manager, including around nine years in management positions at Apple.
Projects for which he was responsible at Apple include the launch of iTunes Video in German-speaking Europe and more than 50 emerging markets such as India, Africa, Russia, Turkey and the Middle East.
Earlier, Langefeld worked for Euvia Media, operator of German TV channel 9Live, and pay-TV broadcaster Sky Deutschland.
“Pantaleon has become one of Europe’s fastest growing media companies in recent years. I am especially pleased to be helping to shape the further development of the company in a key position moving ahead,” Langefeld said in Berlin. “I will contribute my experience from my work to date to expand pantaflix.com into a leading VOD company on the world stage.”
