Netgem to put investment in the cloud

January 12, 2017 11.47 Europe/London By Julian Clover

Netgem says the connected home market represents one of the most important segments of the consumer Internet of Things market.

The French technology company says it will focus R&D investments on its Cloud Service Platform. It wants to differentiate by offering the connected devices space the same benefits it currently offers in the connected TV space.

These include a seamless user experience and secure management and analytical tools for operators.

Netgem continues to reach out to teleco operators; its signed partnerships with content providers, including Hayu, Cool School, Plex, Smart Kids TV Gamefly, SPI and Couchplay Games.

“The telecoms market is an incredibly competitive space, with a range of service providers competing for hard to maintain revenue streams and gain new customers,” said Sylvain Thevenot, Managing Director of Netgem. “By signing agreements with leading content providers on our TelcoTV platform, we are enabling telcos to save both in terms of cost and time-to-market as they deploy engaging TV programming to their customers.”

Netgem reported revenues of €15.5 million for the quarter ending December 31, 2016, taking its annual revenue to €74.3 million, a decline of 6%.
