Vodafone Deutschland has expanded the HD offer on the cable network it acquired from Kabel Deutschland.
The free-to-air TV section which now contains a total of more than 20 channels was extended by Sat.1 Gold HD, ProSieben Maxx HD and Eurosport 1 HD.
Eurosport which will show the Olympic Games exclusively in Germany from 2018 recently ended its exclusive carriage deal with Sky Deutschland, enabling it to sign distribution agreements with further platform operators.
Vodafone also added ProSieben Fun HD to its pay-TV package HD Premium while Sat.1 emotions HD and kabel eins Classics HD were added to HD Premium Plus.
Update, 17.00 CET: The press release has been sent out too early, as Vodafone Deutschland explained to Broadband TV News. Apart from Eurosport 1 HD, the new channels are not yet available, just captions can be seen. It can’t be said at this stage when the channels will commence transmissions, according to a spokesman.
