EKT integrates Qarva client

November 17, 2016 10.06 Europe/London By Robert Briel

ekt_qarvaEKT and Qarva have entered in to a new long term cooperation whereby EKT has integrated the Qarva Fast Channel Change technology in the proprietary solidTV software solution.

“TV channel change speeds for IPTV have plagued the industry for too long. Subscribers want ultra-fast, reactive TV content instantaneously,” according to EKT, “You can avoid subscriber frustration and eradicate the time lag with Qarva’s powerful FastSwitch technology. Qarva’s proven acceleration solution significantly improves the industry ‘Zap Time’ norm by a factor of 10 from 2-5 seconds to just 0.2-0.5 seconds.

“Combined with powerful Packet Loss Recovery technology to stop content from blocking or freezing, the Quality of Experience (QoE) and Quality of Service (QoS) dramatically increases for subscribers and minimises churn.”

“We have long been looking to improve the zapping speed of our IPTV solution. When we first saw the Qarva solution we were so impressed we simply had to integrate it.” said Richard Smith, founder and CEO at EKT.

“The user experience is such a key asset to a premium TV environment and the Qarva solution simply beats anyone in the market”

“EKT has been taunting the market with innovative product solutions and we are thrilled to be part of their solidTV solution” says George Mikeladze, founder and CEO, Qarva.

“With this, EKT can now deliver a range of 3rd party Middleware experiences with the speed of our solution.

EKT will offer the Qarva fast channel change to new and existing customers in the coming months and will be available on a range of EKT designed hardware platforms for either IPTV, OTT or as Hybrid as well as their SmartTV for Operators.
