Humax has announced its new H3 Espresso Smart Media Player.
It’s designed to use around the home and has access to live TV, Netflix, YouTube and TVPlayer.
The device works through an HDMI port to any HD TV and connects to the home network via Wi-Fi or an Ethernet cable.
Graham North, vice president sales at Humax, said, “This innovative Smart Media Player represents yet another technology breakthrough from Humax. Ideal as a stand-alone streaming device, or in partnership with the Humax Freeview Play PVR range, the H3 Espresso delivers a seamless and easy-to-use solution for multi-room TV viewing. This ingenious OTT device also gives customers access to the recently-launched Humax EYE HD Cloud Camera via the integrated app, for convenient home monitoring on the big screen.”
In addition to streamed content, the Humax H3 Espresso enables users to view apps and media files of many types from their own DLNA (home network) connected devices – such as smartphones, tablets or laptops – on an HD television.
As well as video-based content, the user’s photos, music and other audio files from Android-based mobile devices can also be shared with family and friends at the highest quality via an HD TV.
Further content, such as recorded programmes, can be accessed when the H3 is paired with the Humax FVP-4000T Freeview Play personal video recorder. When connected to the FVP-4000T, the user can select channels through the built-in Electronic Programming Guide, and view and record their favourite programmes easily via the integrated hard drive.
The Humax H3 Smart Media Player has a suggested retail price of £79.99. The device has been available in Europe for some time, where it sells for €129.00.
