Ericsson is planning to introduce further cost-cutting measures after a fall in North American sales led to its first quarterly loss in four years.
Lower sales in Professional Services combined with the actions of one operator that continued to reduce its investment in mobile broadband.
Professional Services is the business that supports and helps maintain networks.
Other important markets such as Latin America, Middle East and Sub-Saharan Africa, were impacted by a weak macroeconomic environment.
Preliminary results announced last week led to a profit warning and put more pressure on Ericsson’s falling share price. Net loss was SEK 233 million kronor (€24.1 million).
In the briefest of mentions, Ericsson said sales in TV & Media declined slightly year-on-year.
The company continues to search for a new CEO following the sacking of Hans Vestberg earlier this year.
