NOS has launched a new online TV app for Microsoft HoloLens, becoming the first operator in Portugal to offer television content in augmented reality.
NOS TV was unveiled at Directions 2016 conference in Lisbon
Using the holographic glasses developed by Microsoft viewers will be able to enter an interactive roll akin to that of the Tom Cruise movie Minority Report. Through the app viewers can watch episodes of their favourite series and feel they are in the heart of the action.
“This launch makes us pioneers in augmented reality in Portugal and one of the first
around the world, but more importantly, it is a first step on a path that will bring our
customers more features, more flexibility, more information and more content at any
place and a totally personalized way,” said Pedro Bandeira, product development, NOS.
The NOS TV augmented reality experience can be shared simultaneously by several
users that can interact in the same environment.
