The Kazakh DTH platform Caspio HD has acquired Nemo TV, a Russian service that gives online access to TV channels, for an undisclosed fee.
Kommersant that the deal will help Caspio HD develop its business in Russian-speaking markets.
It adds that Nemo TV was launched in spring 2014 and currently has around one million users.
Meanwhile, Caspio HD, which is majority (60%) owned by Modern Nomads Entertainment, is a relative newcomer to the industry.
It began sales in June 2016 and currently has 5,000 subscribers.
Nemo TV’s new owners expect to see the service break even in the next three years.
