Use of the Polish public broadcaster TVP’s on demand service Vod.tvp.pl has increased by 50% since it stopped sharing its content with other platforms earlier this year.
Furthermore, according to Maciej Stanecki, TVP’s VP, the broadcaster’s priority is now to place a large amount of content on the internet as it builds its own multiscreen platform.
TVP’s on demand platform will start to show programming from the BBC (BBC First) in Q1 2017.
The broadcaster also plans to offer 360 degree video and VR, as well as launch a new channel named Start in Poland.
In addition, TVP is working on digitally re-mastering its archive content, including films and series.
