Austrian media company Mediengruppe Österreich will launch its domestic news channel oe24.tv on September 26, 2016.
The channel will broadcast live 24 hours per day from the group’s newsroom in Vienna (see image). Programmes will start each day at 06.00 CET with a morning news show while live shows, Austria shows, Facebook shows and talk sessions will be aired during daytime. The evening programmes will include the news of the day and a society show.
Live coverage of major events will be supplied by CNN following a collaboration arranged with the US news channel. CNN’s correspondents will also air on oe24.tv.
The ad-supported channel will broadcast on the Astra satellite system at 19.2° East, on large cable networks including UPC, Liwest and kabelplus, on Telekom Austria’s IPTV platform A1 TV, on DVB-T2 platform simpliTV, via smartphone/tablet app and as a live-stream on its website, thereby reaching a total of more than 3 million Austrian TV households from day one. The website will also contain a catch-up TV service.
