Perform Group selects Massive for German OTT service

August 11, 2016 16.58 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

DAZN_all_devices_screenshotUK-based media company Perform Group has chosen a video app user interface server solution from Massive Interactive for its new German live sports streaming service DAZN.

Massive AXIS, the multiscreen video service delivery platform developed by the UK-based video app solutions provider, enables DAZN to offer subscribers extensive device support including smart TVs, smartphones, tablets and games consoles.

“Our sports fans demand unrivalled access anytime, anywhere and on a number of devices,” said Ben Lavender, CPO of DAZN. “Working with Massive gives us the expertise and proven technology we need to launch such an ambitious new service. The fact that Massive has already successfully delivered these types of large-scale video service projects for Tier 1 operators brings a lot of confidence to the project.”

DAZN provides sports fans with live and on-demand coverage of over 8,000 sports events per year. The multiscreen OTT service launched in Germany, Austria and Switzerland on August 10, 2016 with Japan to follow.

Further partners Perform Group relies on for the DAZN operation include German sports production company Plazamedia and UK-based broadcast service provider Babcock.
