Austria’s largest cable operator UPC has added programmes from pay-TV channels History and A&E to its catch-up TV service.
History provides documentaries on the past, present and future while A&E contributes family stories, crime formats and series.
The 7-day catch-up TV service also comprises content from 13th Street, Syfy, Cartoon Network, TNT Serie, Universal Channel, CBS Reality, Extreme Sports Channel, Nickelodeon and Jim Jam.
In addition to the catch-up TV service, UPC also wants to introduce a replay TV function.
“Our experience in other countries shows that replay TV becomes increasingly popular,” Gerald Schwanzer, vice president products at UPC, said in Vienna. “However, the current legal situation in Austria doesn’t allow this feature at this stage. We hope, though, that we will soon be able to offer replay TV to our Austrian customers.”
