The Polish national commercial broadcaster Telewizja Polsat plans to launch a new sports channel on August 1.
The service, offered in HD, will be known as Polsat Sport Fight, commercial-free and on air seven days a week for at least 18 hours daily.
Satkurier notes that the country’s National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) has allowed the new channel to use the licence formerly awarded to Polsat Sport Weekend in 2013.
The latter was never launched and its name has now been changed to Polsat Sport Fight.
Once Polsat Sport Fight HD makes its debut Polsat will operate a total of four proprietary sports channels, the others being Polsat Sport HD, Polsat Sporet Extra HD and Polsat Sport News.
