Vodafone has moved a step closer to entering Romania’s TV market.
ZF reports that the company is trialing a 4G TV app that gives customers access to almost 20 local and international TV channels, along with on demand services.
It adds that the app aggregates content from HBO and Zonga, but music and movies can be accessed through dedicated applications.
4G TV is available for free, on Android or iOS, to all Vodafone customers who use the account management application My Vodafone.
Vodafone remains the only large telco in Romania to not offer a TV service, with RCS&RDS, UPC and Telekom, along with Orange, all well-established players in the market.
Earlier this year, its CEO Ravinder Takkar ruled out the possibility of the company launching a DTH platform.
