Liberty Global is excited in the prospect of rolling out mobile in various markets in Central and Eastern Europe, and Poland in particular, according to Eric J Tveter, CEO Central Europe Group, Liberty Global.
Speaking to Broadband TV News, he added that this would be as an MVNO. At present, it only offers mobile in Hungary, where its DTH operation has also been piloting a triple-play service.
Tveter said that Liberty is potentially looking at rolling it out to other markets.
Commenting on Horizon, he said that it is currently being piloted in Austria and would be introduced by the end of the summer.
Horizon is available in all the CEE markets and some of its features, including replay, are particular popular among customers.
Commenting more generally on the market in CEE, Tveter said that Liberty’s biggest challenge is building scalability. Market consolidation is also important.
