New Penthouse deal for M7 Group

June 14, 2016 09.45 Europe/London By Robert Briel

M7 Group has concluded an agreement with Penthouse Global Media for the satellite distribution of Penthouse HD1, Penthouse HD2 and Penthouse HD to both M7 customers and third-party operators within Europe.

The Penthouse HD1 and HD2 channels will be distributed via the M7 satellite platform at Astra 23.5 degrees East and made available to subscribers of Dutch satellite TV-platform Canal Digitaal, Dutch IPTV provider Online.nl, Flemish satellite TV platform TV Vlaanderen and Skylink, the pay-TV platform for Czech Republic and Slovakia.

The third channel, Penthouse HD, will be distributed via the M7 platform at the Eutelsat 9B satellite at 9 degrees East and made available for subscribers of M7 Deutschland’s cable and IPTV customers, including TeleColumbus, PrimaCom and NetCologne.

Under the agreement, M7 Platform Services will also arrange for the satellite contribution of all three Penthouse HD channels to third-party operators in Europe. This service scheme includes the provision of smartcards and CI modules, 24/7 quality monitoring and help desk support to third-party operators. In order to allow for a smooth transition of the channels from its current satellite position to the M7 platform, a simulcast period till 31 July will apply.

“We are very pleased to continue and expand our long-standing relationship with M7,” commented Kelly Holland, managing director of Penthouse Media.

“Over the years, we have built-up great confidence in the high-quality third-party contribution solutions they have provided us in various European key markets. We look forward to more fruitful years to come”

Bill Wijdeveld, VP Business Development at M7 Group said: “This new agreement is an important new milestone in our long-lasting relationship with Penthouse and a clear sign of confidence and trust in the quality of our service provisioning. Last-but-not-least, we are quite happy that our customers will now be able to enjoy the Penthouse programming in full HD quality. We look forward to a continued successful partnership.”
