Vodafone Deutschland will increase the maximum data rate of its internet access for cable customers from 200 to 400Mbps; the upload data rate will be 25Mbps.
From mid-June 2016, the new high-speed service will be available to almost 4 million households across Vodafone’s cable footprint including, for example, large cities like Munich, Nuremberg, Hamburg and Leipzig as well as smaller towns like Bayreuth, Chemnitz, Cottbus, Ingolstadt, Potsdam and Weimar.
By the end of 2016, Germany’s largest cable operator wants to serve 60% of its households with the 400Mpbs service.
Unitymedia and Tele Columbus also offer 400Mbps internet access.
