Teleste is to show ANGA COM attendees the latest in headend development and smart services.
The Finnish firm will be demonstrating its Luminato headend platform and its various modules.
“Today, technological innovation is needed to lead the way in headend development”, says Teleste’s Vice President of Video Service Platforms Julius Tikkanen. “The future of TV and video services has not ended with IPTV technology – rather, there is a growing need for more flexibility and versatility in the service design. Maintaining the quality of services and meeting diverse customer demands requires advances in headend technology, and taking a fresh perspective on service development.”
Teleste will be building on the 2015 introduction of a new application module for the company’s Luminato headend platform. The module includes a full-featured Linux computer and makes it possible to code headend applications for various needs and application areas.
Teleste is also showcasing a new Teleste Luminato multireceiver, a compact and multifunctional module for cable TV and IPTV operators. Featuring two physical ports with dual receivers, the module enables several possible input configurations, and, thus, lowers investment costs.
The multireceiver supports several standards, including DVB-S2X reception for efficient high bitrate satellite video. It can be used to receive payloads via satellite, terrestrial and cable networks and via IP inputs, either encrypted or free-to-air.
