ProSiebenSat.1 revamps MyVideo

May 18, 2016 16.41 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

MyVideo ScreenshotGerman media company ProSiebenSat.1 redesigns its free streaming video portal MyVideo.

The platform currently being recreated will complement its digital TV offers and video-on-demand (VOD) service maxdome, a ProSiebenSat.1 spokesman told Broadband TV News. The focus would continue to be on the area of video and entertainment.

User-generated content has already been removed from MyVideo in autumn 2015 as part of the realignment. The TV content from Sat.1, ProSieben and other ProSiebenSat.1 channels is also no longer part of the platform and now exclusively offered on the TV channels’ web portals.

Currently, the MyVideo website acts as a so-called premium content discovery platform hosting trailers which showcase new cinema movies, series, games and DVDs.

Independent of the MyVideo revamp, the major part of the old MyVideo team in Berlin is currently working on a new linear video offering which will launch later this year, according to the spokesman. As part of the project, collaborations are planned with smaller national and international production companies. The aim is to address new target groups through special interest formats.
