Canal+ Group is moving group channel head Gérald-Brice Viret to become director of Canal+. It’s the latest move from the trouble French pay-TV operation as it seeks to control costs within its French pay-TV operations.
The journalist and former director of TMC, 2M and NRJ will retain his current responsibilities as head of channels.
Viret will report to group CEO Maxime Saada.
Meanwhile, Jean-Marc Juramie becomes director of Canalsat, reporting to Frank Cadoret, director of distribution.
Canal+ has been losing money for the last four years; Last month parent company Vivendi acknowledged that since 2012 the subscriber base has been severely eroded.
