Discovery Networks Central & Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa (CEEMEA) has appointed Sascha Kojic to the newly created role of vice president of sports for Central & Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Based in Munich, Kojic will join Discovery on March 1, 2016 and report to Kasia Kieli, president and managing director, Discovery Networks CEEMEA.
Kojic will oversee Discovery’s sports strategy, including the acquisition, sublicensing and exploitation of rights on multiple platforms. He will work closely with Discovery’s local teams in each market to maximise existing opportunities, as well as to identify new growth areas for Discovery in the world of sports, according to the parent company of sports broadcaster Eurosport.
Kojic has over a decade of experience in the sports and media industries, with extensive knowledge of rights portfolio management (acquisition and sales) and channel distribution to various platforms. For the past three years he has held the position of chief representative at MP & Silva, an international media rights company that owns, manages and distributes television media rights.
