Intelsat confirmed it was on target with a fourth quarter performance in line with expectations.
Preliminary total revenue for full-year 2015 is expected to be $2.353 billion.
In media revenues, $219 million was taken in the fourth quarter of 2015, a 3% decrease on the same period in 2014, largely caused by a shift in North American customers to new compression standards.
The operator is preparing to bring Intelsat 29e, its first high throughput satellite, into service in the second quarter. It will deliver carrier-grade services to fixed and mobile network operators, and support broadband applications for enterprise, aeronautical and maritime mobility service providers and government customers operating throughout the Americas and the North Atlantic region.
Intelsat 36, which supports growth for the South Africa DTH neighborhood at 68.5 degrees East, is slated for launch in the third quarter.
BBC World News has renewed a multi-year contract with Intelsat. The operator provides the international news channel with a global distribution network, using three Intelsat satellites, Galaxy 13, Intelsat 19 and Intelsat 20, and our teleports in Ellenwood, Georgia, Napa, California, and Fuchsstadt, Germany.
