Zattoo to add pay-TV from ProSiebenSat.1

February 9, 2016 09.14 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

Zattoo VODGerman commercial TV broadcaster ProSiebenSat.1 has expanded its collaboration with internet TV provider Zattoo: Pay-TV channels ProSieben Fun, Sat.1 Emotions, kabel eins classics and wetter.com TV (formerly Deutsches Wetter Fernsehen) will become available as livestreams on the OTT platform.

The four channels will be part of subscription package Zattoo+. The launch is planned for February 11, 2016, a Zattoo spokesman told Broadband TV News. The subscription prices will remain unchanged. Zattoo+ is currently available at www.zattoo.com. It will be added to the Zattoo apps for smartphones, tablets and smart TV sets in the next weeks, according to the spokesman.

The agreement also covers catch-up content from ProSiebenSat.1’s channels offered by Zattoo following its TV screening. The line-up comprises programmes from Sat.1, ProSieben, kabel eins, sixx, Sat.1 Gold and ProSieben Maxx which can be accessed by subscribers of premium service Zattoo HiQ from now on.

A selection of the catch-up programmes are also available free of charge. Zattoo’s ad-supported video-on-demand service is currently offered at www.zattoo.com and within the Windows 10 app. It will be added to the Zattoo apps for iPhone and iPad soon.

The free-to-air TV channels of ProSiebenSat.1 have been offered as livestreams on the Zattoo platform since April 2014 – as part of Zattoo HiQ.
