Deutsche Telekom has acquired the TV rights of Germany’s domestic ice-hockey league Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL) for the next four seasons starting with the 2016/17 season.
The agreement of which financial details have not been disclosed contains the option for an extension by another four years.
The German telco wants to transmit all DEL games live and in HD quality on its IPTV platform Entertain as well as on the internet, mobile TV, smart TV and streaming services.
Telekom and DEL want to announce further details on the offering and subscription pricing at a later stage.
