The Polish broadcaster Telewizja Republika plans to launch a second channel.
Wirtualne Media reports that the service will be conservative in outlook. It will also be distributed terrestrially and aim to compete with other terrestrial TV services in Poland.
Quoting Piotr Fic, Telewizja Republika’s newly elected president, Wirtualne Media adds that the next stage of the broadcaster’s development will be funded by Polish and foreign investors, talks with which are currently taking place.
Although Fic was unable to provide a launch date for the new channel as this depended on when it could secure a slot on a multiplex, he said that some programming planned for it could appear this year
