Dutch cable operator Ziggo is dropping support for an early generation of its cable tuners, the Samsung DCB-H360r.
The model was first introduced in 2006 and Ziggo customers could buy the tuner in retail. At the time, Ziggo was encouraging its customers to buy their receiver rather than rent it, as has been UPC Nederland’s policy.
Ziggo said it could not personally inform owners of the Samsung DCB-H360r, as there is no record of people who bought this model. The cabler has put up a special webpage in order to inform the owners of the dropping of support.
Affected customers are encouraged to now rent the new Horizon Mediabox. Ziggo does not offer any compensation for the defunct cable tuners.
