Poland’s three leading broadcasters have been fined by the National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) for breaching rules related to the sponsorship of programmes.
In a statement, the KRRiT says that an analysis of output on TVN, TVN Style, TVN24, Polsat, TVP1, TV Puls and Kuchnia+ on December 10-16, 2014 and January 5-11 this year showed that they blurred the distinction between sponsorship and advertising.
As a result, TVN was fined a total of PLN180,000 – €41,194 (PLN60,000 each for TVN, TVN24 and TVN Style), TV Puls PLN50,000, TVP PLN60,000, Polsat PLN60,000 and ITI PLN60,000.
