Fred Kogel will become the new CEO of German media company Constantin Medien on January 1, 2016.
Kogel (pictured), currently board member with responsibility for the areas production, process management and integration at Constantin Medien, will succeed Bernhard Burgener.
Burgener who will resign from the CEO position on December 31, 2015 and leave the management board will concentrate on the management of Highlight Communications group in which Constantin Median is the majority shareholder. The move reflects the rising challenges in the areas film and sports marketing, according to the company.
Furthermore, Olaf Schröder, chairman of the management of Constantin Medien subsidiary Sport1, has additionally been appointed as member of Constantin Medien’s management board with responsibility for the sports area effective from January 1, 2016.
Constantin Medien comprises, among other assets, TV and radio broadcaster Sport1, TV production company Plazamedia and movie producer Constantin Film.
