The new Czech channel Prima Comedy Central has made its debut.
The service is developed and operated by Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN), with FTV Prima responsible for spot sales.
Just last month, FTV Prima, one of the two leading broadcasters in the Czech Republic,also launched another channel named Prima Max.
Prima Comedy Central, which offers viewers entertainment and comedy, is being initially distributed terrestrially on the fourth multiplex, operated by Digital Broadcasting.
The sixth channel in FTV Prima’s portfolio and Viacom’s first FTA service in CEE, it will also be distributed via cable and DTH.
Commenting on the launch, Bartosz Witak, SVP and general manager of VIMN CEE and Israel, said: “We aim to make our channels locally relevant on each market by localising its programming and also engaging in local productions. The cooperation with our local partners will provide essential support for Prima Comedy Central to become the favourite channel of the Czech comedy lovers in the shortest possible time”.
