German public broadcasters ARD and ZDF have acquired the exclusive domestic free-to-air TV rights for the European Men’s Handball Championships 2016 in Poland and 2018 in Croatia.
The contract signed between the broadcasters’ joint sports rights agency SportA and rights dealer Infront Sports & Media covers all games of the national German team and further highlights of the two tournaments.
The TV signal will be produced by host broadcaster Polsat in HD quality with up to 15 cameras per match.
The EHF Euro 2016 will take place between January 15 and 31 in Poland. In the total of 48 games, 16 teams – including Germany – will compete for the title.
The EHF Euro 2018 will follow from January 12-28 in Croatia. The qualifier matches for the championship will commence in October 2016.
